German Spring 2018 – Public Space

German Spring 2018 – Public Space

Partner: Hanseatic city Hamburg

As a matter of course we walk through public space every day and public space forms the very foundations of human relations that rule life in society. The personal development of the individual and of a free society depends on the formation and perception of public space. Against this backdrop – and also on the occasion of Estonia's centenary - we pay special attention to public space in our this year’s spring program.

Together with this year’s partner, the hanseatic city of Hamburg, we host exhibitions, concerts, theater and cinema in and regarding public space. Again in the program are the already known and rather popular school projects "Lautstark" and "Jugend debattiert international".

German Spring since 2010
Since 2010, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tallinn and the Goethe-Institut Estland coordinate the event series "German Spring in Estonia".
The aim of the series is to introduce the exciting, creative, inspiring and innovative projects, ideas, events and initiatives of Germany.
The main target audience is young people and the themes of the events range from culture and language to economics and science. In 2018, we welcome Hamburg as a partner of the German weeks in Estonia.
