Tahkuranna Cucumber Festival

The keywords of Tahkuranna Cucumber Festival (known as Pickled Cucumber Festival in years 2010–2017) – cucumber, fish, and handicraft – have been important elements in the daily life of the coastal folk.

Tahkuranna has had their own cucumber cultivar, Tahkuranna Muurom. At the festival during the cucumber season, you can try exciting preserved cucumbers, buy local food and crafts, listen to and sing along folk songs, participate in workshops and make handmade crafts. Cafe Herring trail offers exciting tastes. Throughout the day, cucumber recipes and cucumber food making skills and knowledge carried on from generation to generation are shared.
